Electronic Informed Consent Policy

Telemedicine involves the use of electronic communications to enable healthcare providers to interact with individual patients. It allows providers to virtually meet with patients when face-to-face visits are ill-advised or not practical. Our electronic systems will incorporate network and software security protocols to protect the confidentiality of patient identification and imaging data and will include measures to safeguard the data and ensure its integrity against intentional or unintentional corruption. While we are taking every possible measure to ensure the security a patient’s consent is needed that they understand the inherent risk of electronic communications. It is understood by the patient that they are giving us informed consent when meeting with a doctor or nurse practitioner from Arrow Family Medicine for a telehealth visit. When your visit is scheduled you will receive an email asking you to give us your full consent before a telehealth visit can be initiated.
